Privacy Policy

1. Data controller

The controller of your data is Knotfix, a software development company based in Costa Rica. For any privacy question you can reach us through the contact form or on WhatsApp at +506 8791 7066.

2. Data we collect

We collect two kinds of data:

• Data you give us: when you fill out the contact form we store your name, company, email address, phone number, the service you are interested in and your message.
• Browsing data: pages visited, time on site, device and browser type, approximate country or city, and the site you came from. It is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see section 4).

3. How we use your data

• To answer your inquiry and prepare a quote.
• To understand how the site is used and improve it.
• To protect the form against spam and abuse.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Cookies and third-party services

We use the following services, which may set cookies or collect browsing data:

• Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC): visit and usage statistics.
• Google reCAPTCHA (Google LLC): protection of the contact form against bots.

Google processes this data under its own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics with the add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

5. Who we share your data with

Only with the providers we need to run the site: the email service we receive your messages through, our hosting provider and the services listed in section 4. Some of these providers are located outside Costa Rica, so your data may be transferred to other countries, such as the United States.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep contact form data for as long as needed to handle your inquiry and maintain the business relationship, up to a maximum of 3 years after the last contact. Analytics data is kept according to each provider’s settings (for example, 14 months in Google Analytics).

7. Your rights

Under Costa Rica’s Law 8968 on the Protection of Individuals regarding the Processing of their Personal Data and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you can:

• Access the data we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate.
• Ask us to delete it.
• Object to its use or withdraw your consent at any time.

To exercise these rights, contact us through the form or on WhatsApp. We will reply within 10 business days. You may also file a complaint with Costa Rica’s data protection agency (PRODHAB) or, if you are in the EU, with your local supervisory authority.

8. Security

We apply reasonable technical measures to protect your data, such as encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access. No system is 100% secure, but we work to minimize the risks.

9. Minors

Our services are aimed at businesses and professionals. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The current version will always be published on this page with its update date.
